Mud Map

In 2024, I regularly walked and cycled along the Forth and Clyde canal near where I lived in Glasgow. I became interested in the passage of time of walking replicating the towpath and waterway of the canal. I invited participants to make walks with me, and we explored the textures of the environment through drawing. I encouraged us to consider sounds, smells, light, movement and the ‘mundane’ textures around us. Through this experience, I developed a close relationship with the canal and developed the drawings I made into an installation reflecting my sensory experience of the environment.

This work was exhibited at the Glasgow School of Art Graduate Showcase in 2024.
