River Thames

As a response to my responsibility and privilege as a white settler and uninvited guest on unceded First Nations land, I have come up against the notion of my context- How can I engage in a dialogue of reciprocity? It was suggested to me that I first have to understand my own context and locate myself within the ongoing genocide in “Australia” and the injustices caused by man-made climate change. What is my relationship to place? How did I get here? What is my story? This video is a first attempt at answering these questions.

In the editing process, I was considering how the journey of self-discovery and being torn between worlds and inner realities parallels a journey through time and place. Coming to a conclusion, something like- where I am is who I’ve become. I have been gathering the videos used in this piece over the last six-ish years.
